PURPOSE: To control an air-fuel ratio properly at all times by providing two nozzles in series with a fixed needle inserted into a suction piston and opening an auxiliary fuel passage with its passage area controlled in response to the engine operation condition between both nozzles.
CONSTITUTION: The said carburetor is provided with a suction piston 60 lifted or lowered by the suction negative pressure serving as a drive source generated in response to the opening of a throttle valve (not shown in the figure), and when a jet needle 52 made in one body with the piston 60 is moved back and forth in relation to a fuel passage 35, the nozzle opening area is varied. In this case, two nozzle bodies 37, 39 formed with nozzles 36, 38 respectively are inserted apart on the upper section of the fuel passage 35. In addition, an auxiliary fuel passage 42 communicated to a suction passage 33 between the nozzles 36, 38, and a control valve 43 is provided in the passage 42. This control valve 43 opens or closes a valve body 48 through a diaphragm 47 in response to the suction negative pressure introduced into a negative pressure chamber 45 through a negative pressure passage 50.
