PURPOSE: To reduce the coefficient of friction to avoid the injury of a VTR tape as well as an adverse effect on the reproduced pictures and to facilitate a production for a VTR cylinder, by using a resin molded body having the coefficient of friction set within a specific range to the main body of the VTR cylinder.
CONSTITUTION: A VTR cylinder 1 is produced by an injection molding process from a material consisting essentially of resin tetrafluoride resin, for example, with addition of 5W20vol% carbon black. Then a tape driving surface 2 and a lead part groove 3 are formed on the surface of the cylinder 1, and the roughness of the surface 2 is polished down to ≤2μ. As a result, the coefficient of friction is less than the conventional A alloy within a 0.15W0.25 range. This cylinder reduces the tape injury and also prevents the electrification of static electricity for the cylinder 1 together with high workability and low cost.
