PURPOSE: To minimize measure for preventing explosion by projecting the part forward from the arm part of a robot into a booth via a sealing member and separating power parts for driving the robot and a painting gun held by the robot arm.
CONSTITUTION: The part forward from the arm part 4 of a robot is projected via a sealing member into a booth 1 and power parts 5, 5' for driving the robot and a painting gun 6 held to the wrist 14 at the tip of the robot arm are separated. Paint and air are supplied to the gun 6 by a piping 6 conducted into the booth. Even if the power parts 5, 5' which are not provided with measure for preventing explosion for the driving sources are used, the robot can be used in a place where a measure for preventing explosion is necessary. The satisfactory installation of the automatic machine in the conventional booth space is possible and the reduction in the time for maintenance is made possible.
