Title:
METHOD AND DEVICE FOR POSITIONING CALIBER ROLL AND DOG BONE IN VERTICAL ROLLING MILL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5930410
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To make the mutually positional relation, between a caliber roll and the pass line of a steel material to be rolled, optimum, by measuring the height of a dog bone of the material for each pass, and adjusting the position in height of a vertical type caliber roll basing on the measured results.

CONSTITUTION: After a steel material to be rolled has passed through caliber rolls, a beam 6A fixed to the lower end of a hydraulic cylinder 5A is pushed downward to turn an eccentric shaft 2A, thereby moving upward and downward an upper-part-holding part 14 which holds the shaft 2A. On the other hand, a lower wedge 13 is moved to decrease or increase the sum of the thicknesses of a lower wedge 13A and an upper wedge 12A by an extent equivalent to the moving extent of the upper-part-holding part 14 moving with the turn of the shaft 2A, thereby moving the caliber rolls vertically. Thus a dog bone is acculately fed to be bitten by the caliber rolls, thereby the generation of defects of a rolled steel sheet and the damage of caliber rolls are prevented.
