PURPOSE: To exhibit an efficient thermochromic behavior with an efficient transfer onto the surface of a plain paper by arranging a transfer type thermographic layer mainly composed of three components of a colorless dye, an electron accepting developer and alcohols being solid at the normal temperatures.
CONSTITUTION: A transfer sheet for preparation of a confidential document is a paper coated with a transfer type thermographic layer mainly composed of a colorless dye, an electron accepting developer for helping the dye form color when heated and alcohols being solid at the normal temperature in the amount equivalent to 50W700wt% of the total of the dye and the developer on the back of a support. The coated paper is piled on a plain paper contacting the coated surface thereof and pressed from above the non-coated surface to transfer a latent image onto the surface of the plain paper. The latent image is caused to form color by a heating means such as a dryer and can be identified as colored printed image. But when cooled, it exhibits a so-called thermochromic behavior, impossible to identify visually.
