Title:
NI-SN ALLOY PLATED STEEL PLATE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS596394
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To prepare a steel plate as a can material excellent in weldability, processability and paintability, by a method wherein an Ni-Sn alloy plated layer with a specific composition is formed to the surface of a steel plate and a non- metal oxide containing Cr is adhered thereon. CONSTITUTION:A can making cold rolled steel plate is degreased by alkali and subsequently subjected to electrolytic pickling due to an aqueous sulfuric acid solution to clean the surface thereof. In the next step, the treated steel plate is electroplated in an Ni plating bath having a water soluble Sn salt such as tin sulfate or tin chloride to form an Ni-Sn alloy plating layer comprising 1-30% Sn and the remainder Ni in a thickness of 0.05-1.0g/m<2>. Subsequently, the plated steel plate is subjected to cathodic electrolytic treatment in an aqueous solution containing 10-50g/l of chromium salt such as sodium chromate, sodium bichromate or ammonium chromate or chromic acid to form a non-metal oxide layer containing Cr in a thickness of 3-18mg/m<2>. By this method, a steel plate as a can material excellent in weldability, processability and paintability is obtained.
