Abstract:
PURPOSE:To obtain preferably sealing state from low to high speeds by contacting a seal ring with a seal disc at the low speed operation time, separating the seal ring at the high speed operation time in the noncontacting state. CONSTITUTION:An electromagnet 17 is excited simultaneously upon starting of a rotary electric machine, a permanent magnet 18 is repelled to contact a seal ring 20 with a seal disc 21. Cooling medium supplied from a supply port 13 to a cooling medium passage 9 is fed from an exchaust hole 11 to an exhaust port 16, but since the ring 20 and the disc 21 are rotated in contact, the leakage out of the machine is prevented by the cooperation of a diaphragm 19. When the rotating speed is raised and arrived at the speed sufficiently operating the threaded seal 15, the electromagnet is demagnetized. An electromagnet 18 separates the ring 20 from the disc 21 to hold in noncontacting state. Cooling medium from the hole 11 is prevented from leaking in the axial end direction by the seal 15.
