PURPOSE: To make use of a solar cell effectively and to obtain electronic apparatuses with solar cell which are handy and convenient to use, by displaying outputs in accordance with hand-written letters etc. from a solar cell element disposed in a matrix shape.

CONSTITUTION: When a comment inputting mode signal is applied to a controlling part 12 through a switch input circuit 14 by turning on a changeover switch 4, solar cell elements in matrix array which are in series-parallel connection of a solar cell 16 charging a secondary cell are put in the independent state, respectively. The outputs of the solar cell elements in accordance with letters and marks etc. which are hand-written with light pens, etc. on these solar cell group are stored in a comment memory 13. The comment content of the memory 13 about the set alarm time, etc. is switched and displayed on a liquid crystal display device 2 on which the present time, etc. are displayed, and the solar cell is also used for a comment display, etc. effectively and electronic apparatuses such as an electronic timepiece with solar cell which are handy and convenient to use are obtained.
