PURPOSE: To obtain information corresponding to a fruit only by measuring a coordinate point corresponding to a binary-coded signal and excluding the binary-coded signal with an infinite measured distance so as to eliminate the sky being a background and reflected light.

CONSTITUTION: The coordinate of a picture of the binary-coded signal displayed on a screen of a monitor television receiver 6 is commanded sequentially so as to measure automatically the range of the coordinate commanded by a spot range finder 1. If the measured distance is infinite as the result of measurement, a corresponding data on a frame memory 5 is erased as not the fruit but noise such as the sky being the background. Among the binary coded signal remained on a memory 5 only the signal corresponding to the object of a definite range and having a specific color, i.e., the same color as that of the fruit is stored through the operation above to obtain the information corresponding to the fruit only basing on the coordinate and measured range information.
