PURPOSE:To display or print characters easy to read, by using time information such as the stroke order of every hand-written character besides position and shape information of this character to shape automatically the character in accordance with preliminarily stored rules and indications from a controlling part. CONSTITUTION:Character information, position information, and time information entered in an entry display part 5 by an entry pen of an input/output part 1 are inputted to an input information storage part 7 of a storage processing part 2 and are stored there successively for every character. When the input of one character to the storage part 7 is terminated, entered information are supplied to a stroke shaping part 8, and information stored preliminarily in a stroke shaping rule storage part 9 is referred to shape every stroke, and the output is transmitted to a shaping part 10 for character or the like. In this shaping part 10, every character is shaped in accordance with rules for every character, which are preliminarily stored in a storage part 11 of shaping rules for character or the like, and the square indication from a controlling part 3. The shaped character is sent to a storage part 12 for characters to be dispayed and is displayed on a display part 5 or is printed by a printing part 4 by the editing indication command of the controlling part 3, thus making characters easy to read.
