PURPOSE: To contrive to enhance abrasion resistance of a magnet roll for magnetic brush development by a method wherein a roll type magnet is incorporated in a rotatable condition into the inside of a cylindrical sleeve formed by using the specified steel pipe manufactured of non-magnetic austenite stainless steel.
CONSTITUTION: A roll type magnet 2 is incorporated in a rotatable condition into the inside of a cylindrical sleeve 3 formed by using a steel pipe manufactured of non-magnetic austenite stainless steel having surface Vickers hardness of 220 or more and containing ferrite at content of 0.5% or less. As the above-mentioned sleeve 3, the draw ratio at the final cold draw working is regulated within the range of 5W25%, and the steel pipe manufactured of austenite stainless steel whose heat treatment is abolished is used, and moreover, to regulate the ratio of component of nickel to 10W15% is suitable. Accordingly, durability is enhanced, and moreover final heat treatment is made to be unnecessary, and cost can be reduced.
