PURPOSE: To visually display the changing state of the operating output of an air conditioner by a method wherein the amount of change in the changing state of the operating output is displayed by blinking in pulses for a certain fixed period of time and, after that, the operating output is displayed normally.
CONSTITUTION: Ten luminous lamps 5 driven by a frequency converter, which actuates in response to the load of the operating output, are provided in an operating panel. When an air conditioner is operated in 100% load at the start and then its load is reduced down to 70% of its maximum operating capacity or, in other words, the output is decreased by 30%, the uppermost three lamps out of the respective luminous lamps 5 blink in pulses for a certain fixed period of time and then fail, resulting in normally displaying that maximum operating capacity is 70%. When the load is increased up to 90% of its maximum operating capacity or, in other words, the output is increased by 20%, the uppermost two lamps except the top lamp of the respective luminous lamps 5 blink in pulses for a certain fixed period of time and then light normally, resulting in normally displaying that maximum operating capacity is 90%. When the operation is stopped, all the respective luminous lamps 5 are unlightened. Accordingly, the changing state of the operating output can be confirmed by the direction of blinking of the respective luminous lamps 5.
