PURPOSE: To obtain the titled steel having superior surface roughening resistance and machinability without deteriorating the characteristics such as wear resistance, toughness and fatigue resistance by restricting the composition of a steel contg. C, Si, Mn, Cr, Mo, V, etc.
CONSTITUTION: This die steel for cold working with surface roughening resistance consists of, by weight, 0.60W0.78% C, 0.60W1.50% Si, ≤1.50% Mn, 0.80W 1.90% Cr, 0.55W1.50% Mo, 0.05W0.50% V and the balance Fe with impurity elements. The steel may further contain ≥1 kind among ≤0.30% Nb, ≤0.30% Ti and ≤0.30% Zr or ≥1 kind among ≤0.30% S, ≤0.30% Se, ≤0.30 Pb, ≤0.20% Te and ≤0.2% Ca. The C and Cr contents are reduced to such a degree that the wear resistance is not deteriorated, the amounts of carbide forming elements such as Cr and Mo are regulated, and said proper amount of V is added to make carbide grains fine, so superior surface roughening resistance and fouling resistance are provided.
