Abstract:
The high-speed rotor has a reinforcing band of laminated fibre material. This material (9,10) is divided, and supported on two sleeves (11,12) spaced apart in the axial direction and which have inner cone faces. These in turn fit on inner sleeves (13, 14) with outer cone faces and which are a close fit round the rotor (4). The similar ends of the inner sleeves are towards each other, so as to transmit thrust forces in one direction at least. The outer ones with their laminated material are moved axially in relation to each other so as to generate the desired surface pressure between the inner ones and the rotor body when the latter is at rest.
