Abstract:
PURPOSE:To facilitate installation by providing possibility of engaging a pair of locker arms to open and close two suction (exhaust) valves using a control member including piston installed on one of the locker arms, and by furnishing an oil-hydraulic type lash adjuster to the locker arm shaft. CONSTITUTION:A pair of suction (exhaust) valves 3 furnished at each cylinder are opened and closed in compliance with the rotation of cam shaft 5 through locker arms 10, 15 supported with one ends by a shaft 6 swingingly. These two locker arms 10, 15 are consolidated by pressing out a piston 22 in cylinder 13 formed at the locker arm 10 by oil pressure to allow intrusion into a through hole 17 formed in the locker arm 15 against a guide pin 18, and the locker arm, i.e. one of the suction valves 3, is put in no-operable state by drawing out the piston 22 from said through hole 17. A sector-shaped notch 7A is cut in one of the journals 7, 8 at the both ends of the shaft 6, and an oil-hydraulic lash adjuster 30 is installed in contact with the seat 7a of this notch 7A.
