PURPOSE: To avoid useless power consumption by detecting a synchronizing signal of a receiver, brightness of a cathode ray tube and sound from a speaker and discriminating the end of broadcast from the presence or absence of the detected output so as to cut off a feeding path of the receiver.

CONSTITUTION: A synchronizing signal detection circuit 13 is connected to an output terminal of a synchronizing circuit 7 of a television receiver and the synchronizing signal from it is detected. The synchronizing signal detection circuit 13 includes and amplifier circuit and a waveform shaping circuit and a switch circuit 14 receiving the output is connected to the next stage of the detection circuit 13. While the television receiver 1 receives a broadcast signal, since the synchronizing signal si outputted continuously from the synchronizing circuit 7, the switch 14 incorporated in the feeding line of the power supply circuit 12 is not interrupted and when the synchronizing signal is not detected at the end of broadcast, the switch 14 is interrupted and the feeding to the television receiver is stopped.
