PURPOSE: To obtain a wear resistance member wherein a ferrous base material and a sintered hard alloy are securely bound, by interposing an Ni-P alloy layer contg. a specific amt. of P between the ferrous base material and the sintered hard alloy and subjecting these materials to pressurizing under heating then to diffusion joining.
CONSTITUTION: The paste prepd. by mixing Ni-P alloy powder contg. 9W13wt% P (about ≤400 mesh grain size) with an org. solvent such as methyl cellulose is coated at 0.02W0.07g/cm2 ratio on the joint surface of a sintered hard alloy or a ferrous base material. The sintered hard alloy is a sintered hard alloy which consists essentially of WC, contains much Co, Ni, etc. and has excellent toughness and wear resistance. The ferrous base material is ordinary steel, stainless steel, etc. Both materials are superposed on the joint surfaces and are heated for 30W90min at 1,000W1,150°C in a non-oxidizing atmosphere under load. The Ni- P alloy is thus diffused and the wear resistance member is obtd.
