PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of the density irregularity of a color or spot, by a method wherein a coagulation suppressing layer for suppressing the coagulation of a dye is preliminarily formed on a printing surface and a sublimable dye is sublimed by heating to be adhered and fixed to said layer on the printing surface of paper.
CONSTITUTION: A coagulation suppressing layer 14 is formed on the surface of paper 13 to embed needle like projections of fibers or crater shaped projections therein and the surface thereof is made smooth. When a sublimed and evaporated dye is blown to the treated paper 13, the cooled and solidified dye 5a is uniformly dispersed on the paper 13. In this case, a dye 5b having a different color can be blown to the layer of the dye 5a. As the material the coagulation suppressing layer 14, for example, a polyvinyl chloride/vinyl acetate copolymer or a acrylic acid/styrene copolymer can be used.
