Title:
CHAIN FOR CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59126135
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce slip of a chain on a V-shaped pulley to suppress heat generation, and keep a good performance against breakage and extension, etc. by providing slant surfaces at lower ends of link plates on both sides of a leaf chain, and making an angle of the slant surfaces equal to a tilt angle of the V- shaped pulley. CONSTITUTION:A chain is abutted against a V-shaped pulley 1 radially inside of a pitch line of the chain, and a link plate, etc. constituting the chain is also abutted against the V-shaped pulley 1. With this arrangement, it is possible to apply a large tensile force to the chains 11 to 13. Accordingly, the tensile force naturally makes a vertical drag P created between the V-shaped pulley 1 to be increased, thereby increasing a frictional force and accordingly preventing slip between the chains and the V-shaped pulleys and improving power transmission efficiency.
