Title:
CLEARANCE CONTROL SYSTEM FOR STEAM TURBINE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS59113210
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To reduce leakage volume from a clearance by a method wherein steam for use in heating or cooling a seal ring placed in opposition to movable vanes is controlled in response to a clearance between the movable vanes and the seal ring. CONSTITUTION:A clearance 27 between a side wall 22 at the extremity end of movable vane 21 and a tip fin 23 fixed to a seal ring 24 placed in opposition to the side wall is measured by a sensor 26 so as to control a control valve 28 and a change-over valve 29 in such a way as the clearance 27 becomes a minimum value. Under the change-over operation of the change-over valve 29, temperature of steam flowing into a distributer 25 for use in blowing steam against the seal ring 24 is changed over. A flow rate passing through the distributer 25 is controlled by the control valve 28. In this way, it is possible to keep a minimum clearance in response to the condition of steam or thermal load.
