PURPOSE: A super-MW polyolefin powder which difficultly undergoes dusting during compression molding and can be easily handled, obtained by polymerizing an olefin in the presence of a specified catalyst and having a specified limiting viscosity, a specified average particle diameter, a specified particle diameter distribution and a specified bulk density.
CONSTITUTION: This super-MW polyolefin powder has a limiting viscosity as measured in decalin at 135°C≥5dl/g, a content of powder of a particle diameter of at least 840μ≤10%, based on the entire powder, a content of powder having a particle diameter of 44W840μ≥90%, based on the entire powder, and an average prticle diameter of 200W700μ and a bulk density ≥0.3g/cm3. It can be obtained by slurry-polymerizing an olefin (e.g., ethylene) in a hydrocarbon solvent in the presence of a Ziegler catalyst obtained by combining a solid titanium catalyst component having an average particle diameter of about 5W40μ and a narrow particle diameter distribution with an organoaluminum compound (e.g., triethylaluminum).
