PURPOSE: To provide a magnetic toner chain irrespectively of the rotation of a magnet roll for feeding a magnetic toner, by providing two different gaps for limiting the thickness of the magnetic toner applied and a permanent magnet for magnetizing a recording electrode.
CONSTITUTION: The recording electrode 11 is magnetized by the permanent magnet 13, the magnetic toner 14 is accumulated at a doctor gap 17, and the toner chain 20 is provided at the tip of the electrode 11. A recording voltage is impressed between the electrodes 11, 12 by a recording-controlling circuit 21, thereby producing a toner image on a recording medium 22. The toner 14 thus consumed is re-supplied by the magnetic force of the electrode 11 to provide a new toner chain 20, and picture elements are successively recorded asynchronously with the rotation of the magnet roll 18.
