Abstract:
A hollow plug is inserted into the end of the tube. The wall of the plug is tapered on the inside. A threaded bolt is inserted through the hollow plug. The end which is inserted into the tube is spherically shaped. The other end is threaded. This cooperates with a nut that is on the remote end of the plug. As the nut is tightened, the spherical end of the bolt expands the tapered wall, locking the plug into the tube.
