PURPOSE: To enable the amount of an ink transferred to a transfer recording paper to be varied and corrected, by constituting an ink layer in an ink sheet of at least two ink layers differing in melting point.
CONSTITUTION: A base film 503 is provided with a resistance layer 504 on one side thereof, and three ink layers 502-1, 502-2, 502-3 are provided on the other side. The ink layers 502 are provided while appropriately selecting, for example, the wax components contained therein so that the layer closer to the base film 503 has a higher melting point. As a result, when the amount of energy supplied is small, the first layer 502-1 is melted and transferred onto the transfer recording paper, and when the amount of energy is increased, the second layer 502-2 and the third layer 502-3 are sequentially transferred. In addition, by varying the melting point or film thickness of the ink layers 502 or the number of the ink layers, it is possible to further correct the rate of transfer.
