PURPOSE: To suppress and reduce crosstalk between adjacent tracks out of multichannelled recording tracks and to minimize guard band width between the recording tracks by inclining respective planes of a main magnetic pole group so that these surfaces are crossed alternately at an angle of α from a track width direction.

CONSTITUTION: The 2nd base material 33 consisting of a non-magnetic material is unitedly combined and joined with the 1st base material so as to sandwich main magnetic poles 32aW32c between these base materials 31 and 33. Inclined planes alternately crossed at the angle α equal to the crossing angle of the inclined planes 31aW31c of the 1st base material 31 are formed on one plane of the 2nd base material 33 so as to be butt-joined with the inclinded planes 31aW 31c. When an information signal is to be recorded in a vertically magnetized film 12 of a magnetic tape T, signal current is made to flow into coils 15aW 15c from the external to excite auxiliary magnetic poles 14aW14c, so that the magnetic flux is concentrated to a place close to the main magnetic poles 32aW 32c having high magnetic permiability and a vertical magnetization film 12 is magnetized in a direction vertical to its film surface.
