PURPOSE: To always supply a piece of tasty toasted bread by varying the output and the electric conduction time of a heater according to the state of a piece of toasted bread.

CONSTITUTION: When a piece of bread at a normal temperature which is immediately after purchase is toasted (case A), heating is carried out with the whole output of a heater for 1.5min. In case of the bread in refrigeration storage (case B), the cycle in which heating is carried out with the whole output of the heater for 16sec. and the heater is put into repose for 14sec. is repeated in nine times, and then heating is carried out for 16sec. in the final stage, and the total heating time is set at 4min. 64sec. For the bread subsequent to the second, the toast time is shortened in comparison with the case of the first bread. In case of the bread at the normal temperature (A), the heating time for the bread subsequent to the second is set at 1min. 5sec. Further, in case of the refrigerated bread (B), the cycle is reduced by one time, and the heating time is set to 4min. 16sec. The state of the bread is judged by a temperature sensor installed on the toaster, and since the subsequent control operation is automatically carried out by a control mechanism in an operating panel, it is enough for an operator of the toaster only to mount a piece of bread into a bread taking-in/out port of the toaster and push the pertinent button on the operating panel.
