PURPOSE: To facilitate adjustment of a toe angle and automation by obtaining a modified value from measurement of the toe angle at setting wheels in the straight going direction, steering wheels so as to displace tie rods in the outside direction of a vehicle, and adjusting the tie rods based on the modified value.

CONSTITUTION: At adjusting a toe angle in a steering mechanism 10, at first a steering wheel 12 is rotationally moved to set the vehicle in the straight going direction. Nextly, the toe angle of wheels 24a, 24b is measured, and a modified value for rotational moving tie rod adjusting members 28a, 28b to change this toe angle to a desired angle is obtained. Nextly, the wheels 24a, 24b are deflected in one direction to adjust toe angle. Namely, when the wheels 24a, 24b are deflected right and left, the adjusting part 30a of the tie rod adjusting member 28a is placed in the condition confirmable from outward. In this condition, a locknut is loosened, the adjusting part 30a is rotationally moved by a value corresponding to the modified value, and the lock nut is tightened.
