Title:
TOE ANGLE DETECTING DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0465622
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:
PURPOSE:To detect a toe angle with high accuracy by bringing detectors into contact with the rim flange of a wheel at two points which are at a specific distance from each other, and moving the detectors along the wheel and thus detecting an angle of rotation. CONSTITUTION:A cylinder 106 is driven again to separate a roller 112 from the top surface part 100a of the rim and also bring a roller 102 into contact with the top surface part 100a of the rim and a roller 104 into contact with the rim flange 100b. When detection parts 90a and 90b of a toe detecting means 82 abut on the rim 98, the detection parts 90a and 90b move along the rim 98, so the toe detecting means 82 rotates around a support shaft 26. A rotary encoder 30 is coupled with the support shaft 26 and this rotary encoder 30 detects the angle to rotation of the toe detecting means 82, i.e. a toe angle which is an angle of deflection in the travel direction of the wheel 14A.
