To provide toilet equipment which enables the visual observation of the inside of a toilet bowl at the start of flushing by starting the closing of a toilet bowl cover from the start of the flushing.
When a cover flushing mode is selected, firstly, a valve 22 is opened for a predetermined period of time; flushing water is supplied to a rim 3 by the pressure of running water; and soil adhering to a bowl surface is washed down to a trap portion. When a predetermined period of time (e.g. 2-4 seconds) elapses from the start of the supply of water to the rim 3, a toilet bowl cover and toilet seat turning device 33 starts to close the toilet bowl cover 32, and the toilet bowl cover 32 is put into a fully closed state before the opening of the valve 22. After that, the valve 22 is closed; a valve 23 is opened for a predetermined period of time; the jet of water is emitted from a jet nozzle 5 so that siphonage can be induced into the trap portion; and wastewater is discharged into a drain pipe (a siphon flushing step). Subsequently, the valve 23 is closed; the valve 22 is opened for a predetermined period of time again; and trap water is stored.
