To provide an urine collecting unit that can be easily mounted on a standard toilet stool, is excellent in the reliability of its operation, and can secure the serviceability of the toilet.
A toilet seat 28 comprises a specially designed toilet seat 24 with a urine sampling device 26 initially assembled therein, allowing an urine sample to be obtained by use of a standard toilet stool simply by replacing an entire existing toilet seat with the seat 24. A line for conveying the urine sample obtained and a variety of electric wiring are extended into an adapter 174 placed at the back of the toilet seat, so that they do not get in the way when raising or lowering the toilet seat unit for the normal use of the toilet, and so that they are not damaged.
