Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control displacement of the tread of a vehicle pedal when an external force exceeding the specified value is applied to the front of the vehicle.
SOLUTION: A pedal bracket 30 is divided into a main bracket 34 and a sub-bracket 36, which are coupled together by a nut 56 and fastening bolt 54 to serve as a shaft for a swing link 58 which couples a brake pedal 10 with a push rod 60. When an external force exceeding the specified value is applied to the front of the vehicle, the extension part 50 of the sub-bracket 36 is pushed by the main bracket 34 to swing toward the back of the vehicle approximately, and a crevice 62 at the forefront of the push rod 60 is pushed by the front surface 50A to ahead of the vehicle approximately. Accordingly the brake pedal 10 is swung through the link 54, etc., toward ahead of the vehicle approximately round a mounting bolt 70 so that a pedal pad 68 is displaced toward ahead of the vehicle approximately.
