Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the toner superior in the balance between fixability and resistances to offset and blocking.

CONSTITUTION: The toner binder resin is a styrene-acrylic copolymer derived from a styrene type monomer, a (meth)acrylic monomer, and a ≥2-functional vinyl type monomer, and it has a softening point of 115-155°C, a glass transition point of 50-70°C, a gel fraction of 10-40%, a molecular weight of ≤10000 at the peak of the molecular weight distribution measured by the gel permeation chromatography of the solvent-soluble fraction, a retainable elasticity of ≥4000 and an elasticity loss of ≥4000 each at 175-177°C. The toner contains this binder.
