Abstract:

PURPOSE: To control the toner concentration of a fresh developer to be at a normal value, at the time of exchanging of developer and to secure stable printing quality by filling a developing machine with a used developer discharged outside the developing machine again, circulating the used developer in the developing machine for a specified time and discharging the used developer again.
CONSTITUTION: At the time of exchanging developer in an electrophotographic device, the developing machine is filled with the used developer discharged outside the developing machine again and operated for the specified time. This cycle is repeated twice (the number of times is arbitrarily set), then, the fresh developer is supplied and the initial control of the toner concentration is executed. Since residual toner is recovered by the used developer in this way, the toner concn. of the fresh developer at the time of exchanging initially controlled at the normal value from the beginning and the stable printing quality can be obtained. Even if carriers are used instead of the used developer, the same effect can be obtained.
