Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a toner capable of giving satisfactory stable image quality and image density of a copy and capable of considerably relieving the problem of an offensive odor from the toner.
CONSTITUTION: This toner contains a colorant and styrene resin consisting of a low mol. wt. body having one or more mol. wt. peaks in the gel permeation chromatogram in the range of 3,000-80,000 and a high mol. wt. body having one or more mol. wt. peaks in the range of 80,000-1,500,000. When the amt. of volatile components measured by a head space method is represented by A and the percentage of stock monomers and a solvent used for producing the resin binder in the amt. of the volatile components is represented by B, A≤900ppm and B≥80% or A≤650ppm and B≥70% are satisfied.
