To provide a toner for electrostatic charge image development which emits less foul odor in fixing, excels in printing durability, not only in a normal temperature and humidity environment but also in a high temperature and humidity environment in printing, and excels in high-temperature storage stability (blocking resistance) in storage, by reducing the residual amounts of a decomposition product of a polymerization initiator and an unreacted polymerizable monomer that remains in a toner in manufacturing.
The toner for electrostatic charge image development comprises colored resin particles obtained, by polymerizing a polymerizable monomer composition, comprising a polymerizable monomer and a colorant in an aqueous dispersion medium, in the presence of a polymerization initiator and external additives, wherein the polymerization initiator is an organic peroxide; residual amount of an ether component remaining in the toner for electrostatic charge image development is 500 ppm or smaller, and the external additive comprises inorganic layered clay compound fine particles in which quaternary ammonium ions are intercalated between layers.
