To provide a toner with which a broad fixing temperature can be obtained and an image of high image quality can be formed with satisfactory developability by stabilizing an emulsification behavior in its manufacturing process, and an image forming apparatus and an image forming method using the same.
The toner contains a colorant and a binder resin, in which the toner is obtained by granulating, in an aqueous medium, an oil phase prepared by mixing an undenatured polyester resin solution α containing a undenatured polyester (A) and a denatured polyester resin solution β containing a secondarily denatured prepolymer (D) obtained by a first extension reaction of a prepolymer (C) formed by primary denaturation of the polyester as a precursor (B) and the primarily denatured prepolymer (C). The viscosity ηα of the undenatured polyester resin solution α and the viscosity ηβ of the denatured polyester resin solution β satisfy a relation of ηα≤ηβ≤2xηα.
