To provide toner which realizes both of suppressing toner scattering/sweeping in a high temperature and high humidity environment and improving density decrease/cleaning property in a low temperature and low humidity environment.
In a nonmagnetic toner to be used for a non-contact developing method, the toner contains at least a binder resin, a coloring agent and a resin having a sulfur atom. The toner is characterized in that: (i) the amount of the sulfur atom S(m) (ppm) included in the toner and the amount of the sulfur element S(f) (ppm) in a toner obtained by classifying under the following conditions satisfy the relation of S(f)>S(m), wherein the conditions are that the weight average particle size D4(m) of the toner, the weight average particle size D4(f) of the toner obtained by classification, the standard deviation X(m) of the toner, and the standard deviation X(f) of the toner obtained by classification are in the relation of {D4(m)×0.7}≤D4(f)≤{D4(m)×0.8} and {X(m)×0.8}≤X(f)≤{X(m)×1.2}; (ii) the weight average particle size D4(m) of the toner ranges 3 μm to 10 μm; and (iii) the average circularity of the toner is 0.950 to 0.995.
