Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a toner that does not cause a fusion to a drum and an image running, has good transfer efficiency and can inhibit the scraping of the drum, to provide an image forming method using the toner, and to obtain a device unit.
SOLUTION: The toner has at least toner particles and fine hydrophobic silica powder. When hydrophobic characteristics peculiar to the toner are expressed by an ethanol dropping permeability curve under specified conditions, the hydrophobic characteristics of the toner are represented by ≥90% permeability in 25-37 vol.% ethanol content, ≥85% permeability in 38 vol.% ethanol content and ≥60% permeability in 40 vol.% ethanol content. The weight average particle diameter (D4) of the toner is 3.5-6.5 μm and the toner contains ≤3.0 vol.% particles having ≥10.1 μm particle diameter.
