Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a toner with which toner particles having a small particle diameter and a sharp particle size distribution can be obtained, the method for manufacturing a toner that is excellent in heat-resistant storage property in a severe environment and durability in continuous paper feed.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing a toner including toner particles includes the steps of: preparing a resin solution containing a binder resin A, a polymer dispersant B, colorant, wax, a wax surface modifier C, and an organic solvent; mixing the resin solution with a dispersion medium to form a dispersion in which droplets of the resin solvent each covered by the polymer dispersant B on its surface are dispersed in the dispersion medium; and removing the organic solvent contained in the droplets to obtain toner particles. The binder resin and polymer dispersant B are soluble in the organic solvent, and when the adsorption ratio of the wax surface modifier in the wax is ad(C)%, and the adsorption ratio of the polymer dispersant B in the wax is ad(B)%, ad(C)/ad(B) is 0.7 or more.SELECTED DRAWING: None
