The toner storage container 20 cannot be set in a prescribed position in the body of an image forming apparatus unless a handle 50 is detached. Therefore, the handle 50 is securely rotated by an operator before the toner storage container 20 is set in the body of the image forming apparatus. Consequently, toner stir paddles 23 and 24 are rotated while controlled with care by the operator. As a result, before the toner storage container 20 is set in the body of the image forming apparatus, toner agglomerating in a housing 21 can be securely broken by the toner stir paddles 23 and 24.
