Title:
TOOL ADAPTER WITH BUILT-IN EPICYCLIC ROLLER ACCELERATING MECHANISM
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3267722
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To carry out high speed rotation with high reliability by constituting a tool adapter so that a cooling action is exhibited against the heat in an epicyclic roller accelerating mechanism built in the tool adapter before injecting a cutting/grinding coolant to a machining point from plural coolant nozzles provided in the tool adopter.
CONSTITUTION: A fixing part, 20 connected to a fixing side of a machine tool freely removably is attached to a hollow shaft part 1 installed in a main spindle of the machine tool by a taper shank 3 while a tool installation part 30 is installed to the hollow shaft part 1 via epicyclic roller accelerating mechanisms (10, 22, 32). In this tool adapter, circular grooves 21a, 21b, which have the intervals in axial direction each other, and communicating grooves 21c, 21d communicating between the circular grooves 21a, 21b are formed in the outer circumference part of a hollow housing 20. Meanwhile, in one of the communicating groove 21c, an opening area to the point end side circular groove 21a is narrowed more than that of the other side, so that injection of a coolant, which is supplied from a supply port, 50b of a detent block 50 and injected from plural coolant nozzles 24, is approximately unified.
