Abstract:
To provide a tool holder with excellent chattering resistance.
In this tool holder having a tapered shank part 1 at the rear end, and a tool holding part 3 formed at the tip, a vibration absorbing layer 4 formed of material with higher damping property than the tapered shank part 1 is formed at the outer periphery of the tapered shank part 1 to improve chattering resistance λ expressed by the product of rigidity K and a damping ratio ζ.
