CONSTITUTION: A tool identifying device 1 for replacing a tool 2 to be handled according to an object comprises a head 3 for mounting the tool 2, a detection sensor 7 for detecting the tool 2 of the head 3, a container 5 for containing the tool 2 according to its number, a retracting section 6 for temporarily retracting the tool 2, and a detection sensor 10 for detecting the tool 2 of the section 6.
