To provide a tool for closing the opening part of an article of footwear in effectively sterilizing, with a disinfectant gas or a volatile component, the microorganisms that remain alive inside a closing type of footwear having no opening other than the opening for putting a foot in.
As a method of sterilizing the inside of footwear, a method that uses disinfectant volatile components such as plant essential oil components, alcohol and aldehyde is already public knowledge. In theory, steam of volatile components is supposed to have sure disinfectant effect if a required concentration has been reached in a target part on the inside surface of an article of footwear. When an article of footwear is sterilized inside with lemon-grass oil or clove oil that contains disinfectant volatile components, it is effective to close the opening of the article of footwear for the purpose of enhancing the effect to a required level. The method is convenient and inexpensive, with no particular problem caused by using the method. Also, if the volatile component to use is selected, the material of the article of footwear is free from deterioration, while a pleasant smell, a low price and a high degree of practicality are provided.
