Abstract:

To eliminate the early breakage accident of a tool which occurs often in the tendency of increasingly thinning the diameters of a working tool such as a drill, a router, and an end mill in recent miniaturization trend of the printed wiring board.

The surface layers of the drill, the router, and the end mill are coated with an ultrathin film of tungsten disulfide having a small friction coefficient. Consequently, the temperature rise at a cutting tooth part of the tool during dry cutting work can be prevented and the service lifetime of the tool can be improved.
