Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To respond to the need for development of technology for improving tensile strength in assembling, in the end part of an optical fiber cord, an optical connector equipped with a ferrule with the tip end ground, in which an optical fiber, is preliminarily internally loaded and fixed and a connecting mechanism in which the optical fiber is butt-connected to another optical fiber and held by being clamped.
SOLUTION: The optical connector assembling tool 30 is equipped with a connector supporting base 31 for supporting an optical connector having a connecting mechanism, a fiber supporting base 32 for supporting an optical fiber cord 16 by clamping, a tension body fixing tool 37 for fixing a tension body 23 exposed at the end part of the optical fiber cord 16, and a transfer mechanism 38 for advancing or retreating the connector supporting base 31 relative to the fiber supporting base 32; the optical connector assembling method includes a process in which the tension body 23 is caulked, with looseness secured in an optical fiber 17, and fixed on a ring.
