Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain a dentifrice composition decreased in abrasion of dentin and improved in cleaning property and stain-removing property by compounding a polishing agent with polyacrylamide derivative or double-substituted guar gum derivative. CONSTITUTION: This dentifrice agent composition is obtained by including an abrasive system comprising >=15wt.%, preferably 15-75wt.%, especially preferably 20-50wt.% dentally permissible abrasive (preferably a quartz abrasive or calcined alumina) and 0.1-2.0wt.% water-soluble linear polymer selected from a group comprising a polyacrylamide derivative, preferably polyacrylamide partially hydrolyzed (in 10-35wt.% hydrolyzed amount) and a double-substituted guar gum derivative, preferably a hydroxypropylated and carboxymethlated guar gum and having >=1,000,000 molecular weight into a dental vehicle comprising water and a humectant. The content of the dental vehicle is 20-80wt.% based on the composition and the dental vehicle preferably contains 20-60wt.% humectant (e.g. glycerol or sorbitol) and 3-60wt.% water.
