To provide a toothbrush which facilitates the brushing of teeth in an oral cavity enables the efficient of stiff bristles and cleans every inch of the oral cavity easily and effectively.

Bristle bundles 1 are set in a head part 2 of a handle 3 to form a bristled part. The bristles part is provided with hollow bristle bundles forming columnar hollows 4 not having bristles in the bristle bundles 1. This gives bristles only on the peripheral parts of the bristle bundles so that highly- stiff bristles, if used, make their tips reach even concave parts without being obstructed by bristles in the central parts and easily clean such parts as tooth necks and interdentiums liable to leave bacterial plaque. In addition, since the widths and length of total bristle bundle sections function in the same way as ever in usual longitudinal or vertical brushing operation, such method as scrub, bath, horizontal vertical method, brushing and cleaning efficiency is kept good.
