To provide a driving device comprising a toothed belt and a pulley capable of achieving smooth engagement of the toothed belt with the pulley, and extremely reducing the errors of the repeated positioning accuracy to the maximum.
The depth of a pulley groove 13 of a toothed pulley 11 is set to be smaller than the height of a belt tooth part by the measurement on a line. In addition, the toothed belt 1 has a plurality of tooth parts 2 with a core wire of the toothed belt disposed at a predetermined interval along the longitudinal direction and a back part 4 with the core wire 3 embedded therein, and a tooth cloth 5 is covered on the surface of the tooth parts 2. The core wire 3 is a cord which is obtained by impregnating treatment solution formed of rubber latex and epoxy resin in multi-filament yarns of carbon fibers of the total 1,000-10,000 deniers, performing single-side twisted warps of the multi-filament yarns 5-10 times/10 cm, and coating an adhesive layer on the surface thereof. The adhesive layer is adhered to the cord, the ratio of the fiber sectional area to the cord sectional area is 70-90%, and the modulus of elasticity in tension of the belt is 50-85 N/mm
