To provide a toothed belt capable of preventing local generation of large stress in root portions of tooth parts during traveling of the belt and having high durability, and a manufacturing method for the toothed belt.
The toothed belt 1 is provided with the plurality of tooth parts 2 arranged along the belt longitudinal direction at predetermined intervals; a back part 3 in which core wires 5 are embedded; a bonding layer 4 provided between the tooth parts 2 and the back part 2; and tooth cloth 5 covering the plurality of tooth parts 2. Portions of the bonding layer 4 contacted with the tooth parts 2 are swollen to the back part 3 side with respect to the core wires 5. This structure reduces stress generated in the bonding layer 4 during traveling of the belt 1, compared to the case where the bonding layer 4 is arranged in parallel with the core wires 5. Therefore, stress concentration generated in the root portions of the tooth parts 2 is alleviated. As a result, separation between the tooth parts 2 and the core wires 5 is suppressed and thereby, tooth cracks in the root portions of the tooth parts 2 are suppressed, so as to improve the durability of the toothed belt 1.
